We are currently seeking Shutdowns Supervisors to join our mining team on a casual basis for upcoming shuts. You will be responsible for ensuring projects and services are delivered efficiently and in line with client and site requirements. Successful candidates will have previous shutdown maintenance supervision experience and preferably been on a FMG site.
This role involves a range of hydraulic maintenance tasks, including wagon clamp and wheel lock systems, pump removal and installation, hose and tube replacements, HPU servicing, accumulator checks, and hydraulic system inspections and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide S26 statutory supervision for PDs technicians performing hydraulic maintenance works
- Ensure compliance with FMG safety systems, permits and isolation procedures
- Attend pre-start meetings, supervisor meetings and planning meetings with the FMG shutdown team
- Review and manage permits, isolations and work packs prior to commencing work
- Coordinate work fronts to ensure tasks are completed within the shutdown schedule
- Maintain communication with FMG area leads, planners and shutdown coordinators
- Monitor job progress and provide updates to PDs management and FMG representatives
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site safety standards, SWMS and JHA
- Manage and supervise hydraulic maintenance tasks including cylinders, HPUs, hoses, manifolds and associated components
- Assist with troubleshooting and coordination of resources where required
Qualifications & Experience
- S26 – Schedule statutory supervisor training is essential
- Must have completed DEMIRS Legislation Examination Statutory Supervisor exam
- Must have BSBWHS411 & BSBWHS414/RIIRIS402E
- Mechanical Trade qualification preferred
- FMG inducted preferred, but not essential
- Proven shutdown maintenance experience
- Strong people management and communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across various levels (trades/client)
- Leadership mindset and safety focused
- Experience in mining, heavy industry or remote site environment
