Therapeutic Youth Worker (Residential Care)

At Praxis Solutions, we provide therapeutic, relationship-based care to children and young people with complex trauma, disabilities, and high support needs.
We provide a range of residential programs – from trauma-focused environments through to homes supporting young people with significant disability and daily care needs and sibling groups.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for people who are genuinely motivated to work in therapeutic residential care and make a difference in the lives of young people.
What you will need to be successful in the role:
✔ Experience in youth work, residential care, or child protection
✔ Experience in disability support, including high support needs or personal care
✔ OR a strong interest in this work and willingness to learn

What you’ll be doing
- Providing day-to-day care and therapeutic support in residential homes
- Supporting emotional regulation, routines, and skill development
- Assisting with personal care and daily living tasks, including hygiene where required
- Implementing therapeutic plans and behaviour strategies
- Engaging young people in meaningful activities and community access
- Completing professional documentation and reports
Shifts & Employment Pathways
- Flexible shifts across Ipswich & Logan regions
- Includes sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays
- Casual roles available, with a clear pathway to:
- Permanent part-time roles
- Senior positions and leadership progression
Remuneration
- Paid in line with the SCHADS Award
- Above award rates applied in specific circumstances, including:
- Sleepover shifts
- Higher complexity programs
What you’ll need
- Current Paid Blue Card
- Current QLD Driver’s Licence (P2 or above)
- Certificate IV or higher in a relevant field (or willingness to enrol — support can be provided)
- A genuine commitment to working with young people with complex needs
- Experience is valued, but not essential for the right candidate
