Established in 1994, Pilbara Meta Maya Regional Aboriginal Corporation (PMMRAC) is a not-for-profit organisation which delivers essential services (power, water and municipal) and community services (environmental health, housing and accommodation facilities) to remote Aboriginal communities across the Pilbara, Gascoyne, and Mid-West regions of Western Australia.
Water & Wastewater Supervisor (Plumbing or Electrical)
We are seeking an experienced and people focused Water & Wastewater Supervisor to lead service crews and project teams delivering essential water and wastewater services across remote Aboriginal communities in the Pilbara and surrounding regions.
This role suits a qualified Plumber or Electrician who values strong relationships, cultural respect and teamwork, and who enjoys mentoring crews while ensuring safe, high quality delivery of infrastructure works in challenging remote environments.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Water & Wastewater Supervisor to lead service crews delivering essential water and wastewater works across remote Aboriginal communities.
This FIFO role suits a qualified Plumber or Electrician with strong leadership skills, practical technical experience and a respectful, collaborative approach to working with communities and teams in remote environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support water and wastewater crews and subcontractors
- Coordinate planned maintenance, breakdown response and project works
- Provide technical support and organise specialist assistance when required
- Schedule and manage workflows through SIMPRO, ESAMS and HR systems
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within scope and budget
- Complete and oversee all required documentation (JSEAs, Pre‑Starts, Community Sign‑offs)
- Audit field work quality and safety performance
- Liaise respectfully with community representatives, suppliers and internal teams
- Report regularly to the Water Superintendent
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification (Plumbing or Electrical) and relevant Trade Licence
- Current First Aid & CPR
- HR Class Driver’s Licence
- High Risk Work Licence
- Experience supervising crews and subcontractors in a FIFO environment
- Water and wastewater plant operation and fault‑finding experience
- Strong scheduling, communication and time‑management skills
- Project coordination or project management experience
- Experience using job management and field service platform systems
- Experience working in remote Aboriginal communities
- Work safely with Chlorine Gas and Breathing Apparatus certifications advantageous
