Boilermaker

Savquip contracting t/a Pilbara diesel is currently recruiting for a Boilermaker

Key Duties:

– Structural welding and fabrication on fixed plant infrastructure

– Chute / Conveyor maintenance, rebuilds, and structural modifications

– Heavy mobile equipment repairs, including:

– Tray rebuilds and relines Bucket repairs Chassis crack repairs

– Structural fabrication and reinforcement work

– Interpreting and working from engineered and technical drawings

– Light pipework and associated fabrication tasks

– Working within planned maintenance schedules

– Completing work in line with site safety systems and permit requirements

– Supporting maintenance targets while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Salary $96000 per annum

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

– A relevant Boilermaker / Welding trade certificate level 3

– Strong fabrication and repair experience on heavy earthmoving equipment and fixed plant.

– Proficiency in FCAW welding (all positions) and air arc gouging

– Experience working on Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment (highly regarded)

– Solid understanding of workplace safety and risk management practices

– Ability to read drawings, follow procedures and work to OEM standards

– HR, EWP and Working at Heights tickets preferred but not essential

– Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team

– Willingness to mentor and support apprentices

– Capacity to complete a weld test prior to commencement

– Ability to meet pre-employment medical, functional and drug and alcohol requirements
