The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to support the sourcing, purchasing, and management of goods and services across People First Healthcare.
In this role, you will ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of equipment, consumables, and services essential to high-quality care delivery. Working closely with clinical, administrative, and finance teams, you will play a key role in maintaining reliable supply chains, managing supplier relationships, and supporting continuous improvement across procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and engage suppliers to meet operational and clinical requirements
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve value for money and cost efficiencies
- Manage purchase orders, RFQs, and tender processes in line with organisational policy
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor performance against quality and delivery standards
- Resolve supplier issues and discrepancies in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Monitor stock levels and forecast procurement needs to prevent shortages
- Maintain accurate procurement, inventory, and delivery records
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, funding requirements, and regulatory standards
- Prepare procurement reports including spend analysis, supplier performance, and cost savings
- Support audits by providing required documentation and evidence
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness
About You
- Proven experience in a procurement role within healthcare, aged care, social services, or a related industry
- Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in regulated, fast-paced environments
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and committed to continuous improvement
