About the Role
This is an opportunity to be behind the bar in a high-volume, specialty cafe in the heart of Sydney CBD. We specialise in showcasing outstanding specialty coffee and highlighting alternative brewing methods from meticulous pour-overs to delicious batch brews. Paired with our seasonal signature drink offerings. We need a passionate individual who understands that great hospitality is the foundation of great coffee.

This role is for a dedicated Coffee professional committed to the highest standards of coffee execution and guest care. Your focus will be:
The pursuit of precision: Execute every beverage with uncompromising consistency and technique. This includes rigorous equipment calibration, understanding the variables of extraction, and maintaining the highest standards.
Elevating the guest experience: Move beyond simply serving coffee to delivering personalised, thoughtful moments that surprise and delight. You’ll need to be a genuine lover of hospitality, actively seeking ways to create community and memorable experiences for our regulars and first-time guests.
Craft & education: Use your skills in latte art not just for visual appeal, but as a sign of dedication to the craft. Engage customers in accessible, insightful conversations about origins, flavour, and technique, deepening their appreciation for specialty coffee and the price they are paying for it.
Operational mastery: Maintain a clean, organised, and hyper-efficient workstation. Collaborate seamlessly with the kitchen and service teams to ensure flawless workflow. It’s the strength of our Team that measures our success.
Managing the flow: Accurately and efficiently handling transactions with strong attention to detail.
Setting the stage: Enhancing the overall ambience of our coffee shop by assisting with tasks such as organising retail displays and maintaining an inviting environment.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced Barista who embodies the mindset of continuous improvement and genuine warmth:
The specialist: Experienced in high-volume espresso and filter bars, with a deep, practical knowledge of brewing variables and single-origin coffees. Experience with manual brewing methods (pour-over, batch brew, cold drip) is highly preferred.
The lifelong learner: Hospitable by nature and driven by a sincere desire to serve others. You must be genuinely willing to challenge your current understanding of coffee and embrace new techniques and knowledge.
The intentional team member: A dedicated professional who takes ownership of their work and is committed to producing the best possible outcome in every single cup.
