About the role:
As Engagement Chef Coordinator, this role involves the delivery of OzHarvest’s key corporate engagement program – Cooking For a Cause (CFAC), a team building cooking session, using rescued/donated food and leading and instructing teams of corporate volunteers to produce meals for the community. You will help lead engaging cooking sessions using rescued food, guiding corporate volunteers to create meals for those in need. You’ll support kitchen operations, menu planning, food procurement, and ensure food safety compliance.
This is a hands-on, multi-dimensional role ideal for someone who loves teaching, thrives in a kitchen, and is committed to sustainability and social justice.
What you will be doing:
- Deliver inspiring CFAC cooking sessions and represent OzHarvest’s mission.
- Support pre-class planning, menu development, and ingredient sourcing.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
- Engage and manage volunteers with warmth and professionalism.
- Promote OzHarvest’s work in food rescue and education.
What we are looking for:
- Certificate III in Hospitality/Commercial Cookery (or similar).
- 5+ years’ experience in professional cookery.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills.
- Strong problem-solving and adaptability.
- Valid Police Check, First Aid Certificate.
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
