The Role
We are looking for a senior infrastructure engineer who naturally leads from the front.
This is a hands-on technical role first, with team leadership responsibilities second. You will be the escalation point for complex issues, guide technical standards, and help the infrastructure team operate with consistency and accountability.
This role suits someone who enjoys solving real problems, improving environments, and mentoring engineers, not someone looking to move away from the tools.
You will act as the senior technical lead across our infrastructure environments while supporting day-to-day team coordination.
You will spend most of your time
- Leading complex escalations and major incidents
- Investigating root causes and driving permanent fixes
- Designing and improving client infrastructure environments
- Supporting security uplift and operational maturity
- Coaching engineers and setting technical standards
You will also
- Help manage ticket flow and priorities
- Support SLA performance and service quality
- Run structured 1:1s and technical guidance sessions
- Work closely with Projects, Networking and Security teams
This is a delivery-focused leadership role within a fast-moving MSP environment.
Core Technical Capability
- Strong experience across modern infrastructure environments, including:
- Windows Server & enterprise infrastructure
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
- Virtualisation (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
- Backup and disaster recovery platforms
- Microsoft 365 and Azure
- Patch management and security baselines
- Monitoring and RMM tools
2. Exposure to security and compliance practices is important, including:
- Infrastructure hardening
- Vulnerability remediation
- Supporting security or Essential Eight initiatives
MSP experience is highly valued.
