As a result of recent growth, we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and professional Compliance Officer to join our team.

As Compliance Officer, you will be closely working with Head of Risk & Compliance, supporting on a broad range of compliance responsibilities across the business.

Your day will include, but not be limited to

  • Developing and supporting compliance assurance and testing frameworks.
  • Assisting with the management of the Group’s risk management system and risk registers.
  • Act as an advisor on compliance matters and in the development of processes and actions to ensure compliance with the business legal, licence and regulatory obligations
  • Contributing to the strengthening of governance and compliance framework.
  • Overseeing the breach management process ad guiding management in developing action plans to address breaches.
  • Maintaining compliance controls, reviewing control responses from the business and testing compliance.
  • Maintaining compliance checklists and registers.
  • Reviewing and advising on marketing material, forms and key documents.
  • Understand and research compliance regulatory issues
  • Advise and communication any new legislation and regulatory changes that may impact the business.
  • Assist with compliance related communication, education, training and any other compliance matters when requested.
  • Liaise with external bodies such as auditors as required.
  • Assisting the Head of Risk and Compliance with ongoing compliance policies.
  • Assisting the Head of Risk and Compliance with risk and regulatory projects and initiatives.
  • Continually raise awareness and facilitate a strong compliance culture that embodies our ethics and integrity, balancing commercial and client needs.

You will need

To be effective in this role you will need to enjoy working on different projects, have a keen eye for detail, work well within a team environment and have strong communication skills, written and verbal. You will be motivated and willing to get involved in all parts of Risk & Compliance.

You will also have the following attributes and knowledge:

  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in compliance, risk or audit role within Financial services.
  • Knowledge of key legislative frameworks and compliance requirements relating to AFS and credit licensing, and Privacy and AML/CTF Laws.
  • Demonstrated pragmatic approach to compliance management.
  • Ability to work well in a team but also autonomously
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to proactively identify issues quickly and provide business-oriented solutions
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive work ethic
  • An energetic professional who is looking to learn and grow with the business, someone open minded and keen to get involved in different projects to help the team get things done
  • Excellent computer skills, including the ability to utilise a range of information systems
  • Positive and can-do attitude to take on any new duties which may include learning new and challenging tasks and where no task is too big or too small
  • Bachelor degree in law, commerce, business, finance ideal
