Description

The North East Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is seeking expressions of interest for tertiary work placement students to apply for their 2026 work placement intake. This opportunity is designed for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the Natural Resource Management and Environmental fields to enhance their tertiary studies.

Core requirements for placement: 

  • Work placement must be undertaken as a requirement of a course of study (proof required, to ensure coverage under legislation). Work placement is not to be undertaken if not organised through the educational institution 
  • The student is over 18 years of age 
  • There must be no entitlement to pay for the work the student undertakes 
  • Clarification over timing and duration of the placement  
  • Proof of Insurance cover from University 
  • Requirement for a University generated work placement agreement   

Mandatory requirements to undertake work placement with the CMA include: 

  • Willingness to undertake a National Police check  
  • Willingness to complete a Working with Children Check  
  • Willingness to complete a Medical declaration form

Applicants will be requested to provide their CV and information on referees. They will also be required to complete screening questions which will include: 

  • Why they want to intern with the CMA 
  • Preferred role or project 
  • A little about themselves

Applications for the 2026 North East CMA Work Placement intake open on 1 April 2026 and will close on Friday 15 May 2026.

There are currently 9 catchment management authorities across Victoria. The vision for the North East CMA is diverse, healthy and connected landscapes and communities.
