We’ve been servicing the Building and Construction industry since 1990, allowing us to build strong and valued relationships with our customers and the most trusted brands in the Australian Building industry.

We’re looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our growing finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on exposure across AR, AP, payroll, and financial accounting in a supportive commercial environment.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you’ll work closely with the Management Accountant and HR while supporting our branch network

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily cash drawer and bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies

2. Support accounts receivable and credit control, including:

• Debtor collections
• Credit control reporting
• Customer payment processing and enquiries

3. Assist with preparing credit insurance claims

4. Support the processing of payroll via Employment Hero, ensuring compliance with Fair Work, tax and superannuation requirements

5. Support accounts payable, including invoice processing and expense management.

6. Assist in the month end supplier reconciliations and management of fleet cost.

7. Complete ad hoc projects as required.

8. Deliver excellent service to internal and external stakeholders

About you:

To be successful, you will have:

• 1+ year experience in an accounting or finance role

• Degree in Accounting
• Commenced or planning to commence CA or CPA professional qualification
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of Australian accounting principles
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to build rapport.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced work environment
• Honesty, integrity, and discretion.
• ·Ability to work autonomously and as part of the broader team.

Desirable:

• Experience with a large ERP system
• Exposure to payroll or credit control
