Position Overview:
The Ieramugadu Store Supervisor supports the Store Manager in the daily operations of the Ieramugadu Store. This newly created role plays a vital part in enhancing the Store’s capacity to better serve the community, including enabling more flexible and extended trading hours. The Supervisor helps ensure smooth store operations, delivers excellent customer service, maintains stock control, and supports team members on the shop floor. The Supervisor steps into the Manager’s role when required and contribute to maintaining a clean, welcoming, and culturally safe space that reflects the values and ownership of the community.

Strategic Contributions
• Community-Led Retail Operations: Support the delivery of a community-led retail environment that reflects the values, needs, and aspirations of the Ieramugadu community, ensuring the store is a welcoming and empowering space for all.
• Alignment with Strategic Objectives: Contribute to NYFL’s strategic goals by enhancing local economic participation and improving liveability through extended store access, employment pathways, and culturally safe service delivery.
Operational Duties
1. Operational Support:
• Support the implementation of extended trading hours, including daily operations across the full seven-day week, to enhance community access and ensure the Store remains well-staffed, safe and welcoming during all open hours.
• Assist the Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store.
• Support customer service, inventory control, and restocking.
• Ensure all areas are clean, organised, and meet safety and hygiene standards.
2. Team Support:
• Help supervise and support store team members, encouraging a team-based environment.
• Provide guidance to team members during shifts and lead by example.
• Assist with training new team members in store procedures and customer service.
3. Stock Management:
• Assist with stock ordering, unpacking deliveries, and managing inventory.
• Support regular stocktakes and help maintain accurate records.
• Monitor product rotation and ensure displays are well-presented.
4. Cash Handling and Transactions:
• Support cash register operations and daily takings reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems.
5. Customer Experience:
• Deliver friendly and respectful customer service to all community members.
• Assist in resolving customer queries and issues on the floor.
• Promote healthy and affordable product choices where possible.
6. Acting Role in Manager’s Absence:
• Step into the Manager’s role during leave or unplanned absence.
• Ensure continuity of service and basic administrative processes.

Skills and Experience:
Essential:
• Experience in retail or store operations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.
• Reliable, punctual, and organised.
Desirable:
• Experience in a remote or Aboriginal community setting.
• Basic knowledge of food security or nutrition principles.
• Leadership or supervisory experience.
