About Us
Red Dirt Driving School (RDDA) operates as part of Ngarliyarndu Bindirri Aboriginal Corporation (NBAC) and delivers community-based driver training across the Pilbara. We support young people and adults to obtain their driver’s licence, improve road safety, and build independence and employment pathways.
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and community-minded Driving Instructor to join our full-time team in Karratha.
Key Details:
- Full-time position
- Monday to Friday roster
- Starting rate from $33.00 per hour
- Based in Roebourne, WA
- Community-focused instruction across learner stages
You will work closely with participants from diverse backgrounds, supporting them through supervised driving, theory preparation and practical skill development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured driving instruction in accordance with WA licensing requirements
- Support learners to prepare for practical driving assessments
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours and progress
- Promote safe driving behaviours and road safety awareness
- Liaise with families, community members and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with all safety, organisational and regulatory requirements

To be eligible, you must:
- Hold a current WA Driver’s Licence
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ driving experience
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Be willing to complete a medical assessment
- Pass a National Police Clearance
- Complete all required consent documentation
Desirable but not essential:
- Previous teaching, mentoring or community engagement experience
- Working With Children Check
- Heavy vehicle licence
- No previous Driving Instructor qualifications are required, full training is provided.
