Parenting Line Practitioner

• Maximum Term contract ending 30 June 2027

• Onsite in Kensington

• 60.8 hours per fortnight

• Shiftwork required

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Parenting Line Practitioners who aspire to provide support to WA parents and carers in child development and parenting information.

DUTIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Support families with parenting their children (0-18 years) utilising family partnerships and strengths-based approaches.
  2. Provide evidence-based child development information and evidence informed parenting strategies to support families with their parenting queries and concerns.
  3. Assist families to connect with services and resources that will support them in their parenting journey.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) together with the following:

  • Qualifications in Child Health Nursing, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Counsellor, Psychologists, or similar disciplines.
  • Experience working with families with babies and young children.
  • Experience working in partnership with families and family health, particularly in the areas of parenting, child development, perinatal mental health issues.
  • Knowledge of contemporary social issues and the effects on children and families.
  • Ability to engage with and work effectively with all families, including those who are stressed/irritable.
  • Proficient in computer technology systems. Valid WA Working with Children Check.
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance obtained within the last 6 months.
