Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Chief Executive Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to develop and implement strategies that will drive the growth and success of our organization. The Deputy CEO will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company and ensuring that all departments are working together effectively to achieve our goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the CEO to shape and drive NASCA’s strategic direction and organisational performance.

  • Co-lead execution of the Strategic and Operational Plans across a geographically dispersed footprint.

  • Hold enterprise-wide accountability for operational excellence, governance, risk, and compliance.

  • Lead and strengthen central office functions including Operations, Human Resources, and Marketing, Partnerships and Engagement

  • Drive continuous improvement across people, processes, and infrastructure.

  • Contribute to financial stewardship, performance monitoring, and long-term organisational sustainability.

  • Act for the CEO as required, providing decisive leadership and maintaining executive continuity.

  • Represent NASCA with key stakeholders, partners, and external forums when appropriate.

Must haves:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity.
  • Significant executive leadership experience with accountability for enterprise-wide operations, organisational performance and capability
  • Demonstrated cultural capability, with experience working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and a strong commitment to self-determination and community-led practice
  • Experience in governance and organisational oversight, including risk management, compliance and financial stewardship in complex or multi-site organisations
  • Current Working With Children Check and ability to obtain an AFP clearance
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly across school and community sites
