Training and Development Specialist

($100, 776.00 per annum, $51.00 per hour)

The National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect (NAPCAN) is a national leader in child abuse prevention training and advocacy. We work to promote evidence based practice and drive policy and systemic changes that place the wellbeing and safety of children and young people first.
Your Role:
In this role, you will deliver engaging, evidence based training and education to participants. Training will be in programs relating to Respectful Relationships, Child Safeguarding and Prevention. Delivery will be both online and face to face.
You will contribute to the development, review and continuous improvement of NAPCAN’s education and training packages, using evaluation data, participant feedback and emerging evidence to ensure content reflects current legislation and best practice in child safety and respectful relationships education.
As a representative of NAPCAN, you will actively promote our values, mission, and prevention-focused, evidence-based approach in all interactions. You will build and maintain strong, positive relationships within the sector, community, and government agencies to support prevention and safeguarding initiatives.
Strong administration and reporting capabilities is essential. You will maintain accurate training records, participant data and documentation within NAPCAN’s systems, ensuring quality and compliance.
Location: Based in Sydney or Melbourne only and travel required to deliver training primarily across your state and across Australia when required. When not travelling the position is work from home.

Essential Criteria:
3+ years demonstrated experience delivering training or facilitation, ideally within the areas of child safety, respectful relationships, or community education.
3+ years experience in developing, reviewing, and updating training materials or educational resources using current research, legislation, and best practice.
Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders, including schools, community organisations, and government representatives.
Proven ability to create safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed learning environments.
Experience working collaboratively
Mandatory
Working with Children Check
National Police Check
Valid driver’s licence
Tertiary qualification in Education, Social Services & Science, Community Services or equivalent relevant work experience.
Desired
Trained in facilitating Love Bites Respectful Relationship Education
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
Additional study or professional development in child protection, prevention, or trauma-informed practice.
