Description

Summary:

Join our dedicated team as a Disability Support Worker, providing meaningful, person centred support to individuals with disabilities. In this role, you’ll help people work towards their personal goals, build independence, and enhance their quality of life. This position is ideal for compassionate individuals who want to make a positive impact in their local community.

Who we are:

At My Team Support Services, we believe great support comes from strong relationships and teamwork. Our My Team philosophy is centred on building a reliable, consistent team around each individual, so they feel safe, supported, and truly understood. We’re passionate about delivering high quality, individualised support that respects choice, promotes independence, and helps people live life on their own terms.

The Role:

We’re looking for kind, dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team in Albury/Wodonga and surrounds. In this role, you’ll be supporting people to live with dignity, independence, and choice — whether that’s through personal care, help with daily routines, getting out and about in the community, or supporting individuals who may experience challenging behaviours. Experience is welcomed, but just as important is a caring attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.

We’re seeking people who are patient, respectful, and reliable, and who take pride in building positive relationships with the people they support. You may already have experience in disability, aged care, mental health, or community services, or you might be looking to grow your skills in a meaningful career. We offer competitive pay, flexible shifts, ongoing training, and a supportive team that truly values the work you do.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Support clients in achieving their personal goals and promoting independence.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families.
  • Document client progress and report any changes in behaviour or health to the appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification (or willing to obtain).
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient attitude towards individuals with disabilities.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
  • NDIS workers screening check or willing to obtain.
  • Working with children’s check or wiling to obtain.

How to Apply:

If this role sounds like a good fit for you, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply via Seek with your resume and a brief cover letter telling us about your experience or what draws you to disability support. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
