Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to oversee our polymer production operations in Berrinba, Queensland. This role is crucial for ensuring that production requirements are met efficiently and safely, while adhering to quality standards. The successful candidate will lead a team, manage resources, and champion a culture of safety and excellence within the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that polymer production requirements are met to a high standard within established time frames.
  • Adhere to all safety practices as per the relevant TRA.
  • Maintain quality standards as directed by the relevant works order (WO), drawings, and works instructions (WI).
  • Conduct Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on plant and equipment according to the relevant standard.
  • Communicate any equipment problems to the polymer manager promptly.
  • Schedule the weekly production run and ensure adherence to the schedule.
  • Provide progress updates on the schedule to planners based on the weekly production plan received.
  • Plan and schedule daily activities within the department to ensure an even workload distribution among the team.
  • Manage raw material stock for the department effectively.
  • Inspect and sign off completed work for the shift and update necessary paperwork.
  • Develop works instructions of best practices for the department.
  • Train and develop staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Actively participate in MEP 1&2 and lead the section in achieving daily KPI targets.
  • Champion a safe work environment and promote quality within the department.
  • Utilise hand tools and relevant machinery effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of polymer production processes and quality standards will be beneficial.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Competence in using hand tools and relevant machinery.
