We are seeking a Data and AI Lead to play a pivotal role in
strengthening our data and capability and accelerating the responsible adoption
of AI across the organisation. This is a strategic hands-on role for someone who can bridge
deep technical ability with business impact – championing data governance,
scalable architecture, and AI-driven innovation that deliver real outcomes for
our members and our people.
About the role
As the Data and AI Lead, you will lead enterprise-wide Data
and AI initiatives that improve business performance, competitiveness and
decision making. You will work closely with stakeholders across the Bank to
embed high quality data practices and AI solutions into core business
processes, while ensuring strong governance, security, and regulatory
compliance.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Champion and lead data initiatives that enhance
business performance and strengthen the Bank’s market position.
- Build and implement strong data management
practices, including data cleansing, normalisation, and enrichment to support
dashboards, reporting, and AI/ML tools.
- Establish and maintain enterprise-wide governance frameworks, including data quality standards, metadata management and stewardship practices.
- Drive AI adoption across the organisation by engaging stakeholders, running workshops and clearly communicating the value of AI to non-technical teams.
- Design and oversee scalable secure data architectures and pipelines that support analytics and AI use cases.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security and regulatory requirements through robust controls and monitoring.
- Select and implement fit for purpose tools, platforms, and frameworks that balance cost, scalability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross functional and external partners (including product, engineering and operations) to embed AI into business and customer facing solutions.
- Lead data and AI projects end to end, from scoping and planning through to engineering, delivery and outcomes.
About you:
You are a forward-thinking data professional who:
- Bring strong experience in data platforms and analytics.
- Experience building/engineering data models and sourcing data from various sources.
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake and PowerBI.
- Understanding of Financial Data or Banking Products/Services desirable.
- Can translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling business value.
- Has a strong understanding of data governance, privacy and operating in regulated environments..
- Is curious commercially minded, and passionate about using Data and AI responsibly.
