Accountant – Controlled Entity Focus
We
are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to play a key role in
supporting Mosaic and a separate entity under Mosaic’s control. This is a
senior accounting position with a strong focus on establishing and maintaining
clear, compliant, and high‑quality financial reporting for a distinct legal
entity, alongside Mosaic’s core operations. The role is critical in ensuring
financial integrity, transparency, and governance through parallel reporting,
budgeting, and statutory compliance obligations.
Working
closely with senior leaders and external stakeholders, you will manage entity‑specific
reporting, budgets, FBT and year‑end audit requirements, support system and
process changes, and contribute to transition, integration, and (where
required) wind‑up activities. This role suits a detail‑driven accountant who
enjoys complex environments, can manage competing priorities across multiple
entities, and is motivated by delivering accurate, timely information that
supports sound decision‑making.

Job Overview
This role is a senior accounting role responsible for providing
accounting advice and producing financial reports for a separate entity controlled
by Mosaic. A key focus of the role is
the establishment, maintenance, and ongoing management of separate accounting,
reporting, budgeting, and compliance obligations for the controlled entity,
including parallel reporting streams, statutory compliance, and entity‑specific financial governance. The
role maintains the integrity of financial data across both entities by carrying
out reconciliations, preparation of financial reports, analysis of trends and
anomalies, preparation of budgets, and management of external compliance
obligations. The role also supports transition, integration, and where
required, wind‑up activities of the controlled
entity in line with regulatory and governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities of
this role include but not limited to
Controlled entity
accounting and reporting responsibilities include
. Lead the design, redesign, and maintenance
of financial reporting templates to support separate statutory,
management, and Board reporting for the controlled entity.
. Maintain parallel accounting and reporting
streams to ensure clear separation between Mosaic and the controlled
entity, including chart of accounts, reporting structures, and
reconciliations.
. Prepare and manage separate monthly
reporting, annual budgets, forecasts, and cashflow projections for the
controlled entity, recognising that this requirement is significant and
ongoing.
. Coordinate and complete FBT reporting
specific to the controlled entity, ensuring compliance with ATO
legislation and alignment with Mosaic governance.
. Prepare year‑end financial statements, working papers, and audit support for the
controlled entity, including liaison with external auditors.
. Manage Print IQ–related accounting
changes, including reporting impacts, identification of inventory
management and control issues, and mitigation of risks arising from loss
of stock control functionality.
. Identify managed services arrangements,
including:
– review of historical transactions
– correction of accounting treatments
– preparation of accurate inter‑entity and external invoicing.
. Support transition and integration
activities between the controlled entity and Mosaic, including financial
process alignment, data migration, and reporting consolidation where
required.
. Execute entity wind‑up requirements when applicable, including
final reporting, statutory compliance, asset and liability resolution, and
coordination with auditors and regulators.
. Other duties directed by the Executive
Corporate Services.
To be
successful in this position you will have :
Qualifications
· Tertiary
qualification in Accounting
· Membership
or studying towards CA or CPA is preferred
Experience
and Skills
· 5+ years of experience in a similar role
· Experience in not-for-profits and/or disability organisations is desirable
· Sound knowledge of accounting principles and ability to apply
· Knowledge of ATO legislation
· Demonstrated experience managing separate legal entities, including parallel reporting,
statutory compliance, audits, and complex transitions or wind‑ups.
Technical Skills
· Advanced computing skills including the use of Excel, Jet Reports, and Business Central
· Excellent attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy
· Effective organisational skills and time management
· Ability to cope with changes and willingness to learn new systems and procedures
Interpersonal and Organisational Skills
· Ability
to work autonomously as well as within a team
· Excellent
communication skills in both verbal and written
