ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Cloud & Automation Engineer, you’ll design and manage Azure cloud infrastructure while driving automation‑first practices across IT and identity platforms. This role focuses on building secure, scalable Azure environments and using automation to streamline IT operations, user onboarding, and operational workflows.

You’ll work closely with IT Operations, Security, and Engineering teams to reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and enhance the employee experience through cloud‑native and low‑code automation solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable Microsoft Azure infrastructure
  • Build and deliver automation solutions using Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, PowerShell, and Python
  • Automate identity and user lifecycle processes using Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Windows Autopilot
  • Monitor Azure environments for performance, security, and cost, and implement optimisations
  • Support Infrastructure as Code and cloud‑native delivery practices
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and reusable automation patterns
  • Collaborate with Service Management, Security, and Engineering teams to improve operational efficiency and governance

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure environments
  • Proven experience delivering automation across IT operations and identity platforms Hands on experience with Entra ID, Intune, Windows Autopilot, and Microsoft 365
  • Strong understanding of Azure architecture, networking, and monitoring tools
  • Experience with scripting and automation (Power Automate, PowerShell, Python)
  • Exposure to containerisation (Docker, AKS) advantageous

Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104) – required
  • Additional Azure, DevOps, Security, or Terraform certifications highly regarded

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting capability.
  • Automation‑first mindset, with the ability to design secure, scalable, and maintainable workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across engineering, security, and IT operations teams.
