The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical or Electrical Project Engineer to join our vibrant team in North Sydney, New South Wales. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with the managing of engineering projects from conception to completion.

The role will require you to create detailed mechanical design and documentation for the manufacture of company products, whilst providing essential materials that support the preparation of budgets, tenders and product development.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with Project Managers, implementing the technical design delivery on projects and assisting in design change control processes
  • Utilising skills and knowledge of computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment to perform a wide range of engineering tasks
  • Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards, design, equipment specifications and customer requirements in accordance with operational and safety standards
  • Quality control of mechanical manufacturing processes and technical support for production equipment and systems
  • Preparing specifications for purchase of equipment and materials
  • Writing reports and compiling data regarding mechanical engineering studies
  • Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements by coordinating manufacturing, maintenance, FAT testing, installation, and commissioning
  • Collaborating with customers, Engineers and Technicians to design and apply new system processes, while seeking to improve and innovate product designs
  • Travelling to site as required, both domestic and international, to ensure engineering designs have been applied correctly and to liaise with customers and contractors
  • Understanding and operating within ISO9001:2015, providing input to the maintenance and updating of standards within your area of responsibility

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree qualifications and previous experience working in a similar role within an industrial engineering and/or mining organisation
  • A comprehensive understanding of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
  • A thorough understanding of equipment installations, with the ability to diagnose faults and provide technical evaluation of mechanical systems and equipment
  • Documentation writing, ITP’s, O&M Manuals, commissioning documents, project design
  • Excellent mathematical skills with an ability to apply advanced principles and statistics to solve problems
  • A desire to continually seek efficiency and quality improvements with engineering and design standards
  • An ability to work autonomously and quickly adapt to changing technical/business requirements
