Production Supervisor – Afternoon Shift

Kings Park, New South Wales 2148, Australia • Full-time

Description

Meyer Food Co

When people hear the name Meyer Food Co, most haven’t heard of us, and that’s fine. We’re not a brand in the spotlight, but we’re behind some of the biggest names in Australia. Our products reach major retailers, clubs, pubs, national fast-food chains, aged-care providers and hospitals right across the country.

Our business is all about value-added food. Using a unique cooking and packaging process, we take raw ingredients and turn them into slow-cooked, nutritious, great-tasting meals. Last year alone, we produced enough meat to feed every person in Australia three times over — chances are you’ve eaten our products plenty of times without even realising.

With massive expansion underway and new partnerships coming online, we’re now recruiting a Production Supervisor to support and help establish our brand-new Afternoon Shift, reporting directly to the Production Manager.

About the Opportunity

This role exists purely due to growth. It’s a hands-on opportunity to be part of launching a brand-new shift and to play a key role in setting the tone, standards and day-to-day rhythm of operations. The afternoon shift runs between 1:30pm – 10:00pm.

As the Production Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the Production Manager to coordinate people, production and performance on shift. You’ll be on the floor, leading by example, supporting the team, and ensuring production runs safely, smoothly and to plan.

In your first 12 months, success will look like:

  • Developing a strong understanding of Meyer Food Co’s products, SKUs, processes and quality expectations.
  • Supervising daily production activities across cooking and packing rooms to meet volume and schedule targets.
  • Leading, coaching and supporting production operators to build capability, engagement and accountability.
  • Ensuring food safety, quality and WHS standards are consistently met on shift.
  • Monitoring throughput, addressing issues in real time and escalating risks or constraints as needed.
  • Supporting the onboarding and training of new team members as the shift grows.
  • Contributing ideas to improve efficiency, workflow and team performance.

This is a genuine opportunity to be part of building something new, not just running an existing shift, but helping shape how it operates from the start.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a practical, people-focused supervisor who enjoys being on the floor, takes ownership and leads from the front. You’ll communicate clearly, build trust with your team and work collaboratively with the Production Manager to deliver results.

Ideally, you’ll bring experience supervising teams in food manufacturing or a similar production environment, with a solid understanding of quality, safety and production requirements. Most importantly, you’ll be reliable, organised and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Ready to Apply?

If you’re looking to step into a key leadership role, help establish a new shift and grow your career with one of Australia’s quiet achievers in food manufacturing, we’d love to hear from you.
