The Risk Assurance Manager supports the delivery of effective risk and control assurance across the business. The role focuses on supporting control design and testing, quality assurance activities, and ongoing monitoring of risks, incidents, issues, and the Risk Appetite Statement. Working closely with the business and the Risk Assurance team, the role helps identify control weaknesses, escalate matters outside tolerance, and contribute to clear, practical risk reporting for management, executives, and the Board.
Roles and responsibilities
- Support with the development of Controls across the 1LoD Business and application creation of a control’s assurance program.
- Monitoring of the Control Self-Assessment process through Quality Assurance (QA) across Controls.
- Ongoing monitoring and challenge across the Risk Appetite Statement, Incidents, Issues and Risks within our Risk Enterprise System.
- Escalate unmitigated risks, control weaknesses, incidents, and issues outside of tolerance to appropriate stakeholders, and help identify areas for further assurance focus.
- Quarterly Quality Assurance over our Credit, Customer Service, Collections and Settlements teams.
- Complete internal audit activities to provide assurance on targeted operational areas.
- Provide input on business projects where Risk Assurance involvement is required.

We are looking for someone with the following:
- Big 4 Audit or Risk Advisory experience highly valued
- Bachelor of Commerce and CA qualification highly desired
- Ability to challenge business stakeholders across different Risk Key Metrics and Policy requirements when required
- Intermediate understanding of Risk Assessments and how to assess both Inherent and Residual Risk Environment
- Understanding of Risk Appetite and how to monitor Key Risk Indicators
- Understanding of AML, CTF and KYC regulatory requirements in a Non-Bank Lender context.
- Full Australian working rights, either citizenship or permanent residence
