Assistant Licensing Manager

(12-Month Maternity Leave Contract)

Merchantwise is an independent brand management agency representing some of the world’s most famous entertainment and consumer brands across gaming, film & TV, music and children’s publishing.

Our portfolio includes some of the world’s most recognisable brands, including Peppa Pig, Monopoly, Transformers, My Little Pony, Tonka, Minecraft, Sonic the Hedgehog, Angry Birds, Elf on the Shelf, May Gibbs, The Gruffalo and more.

We’re looking for an Assistant Licensing Manager with around 3+ years’ experience who enjoys building partnerships, spotting opportunities, and helping licensed brands show up in meaningful ways across consumer products and promotions.

This is a 12-month maternity leave contract within our Licensing team, focused on the Hasbro portfolio and reporting to the Licensing Director. You will need to be available to start by 20th April 2026 to ensure full handover.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support licensing activity across the Hasbro portfolio, including: 

  • Managing day-to-day licensing across consumer products and promotions
  • Supporting relationships with licensees, promotional partners and retailers
  • Identifying and progressing new partnership opportunities across relevant categories
  • Liaising with brand owners and partners to manage approvals and keep projects moving
  • Supporting contracts, deal memos and broader licensing administration
  • Coordinating presentations, meetings and planning activity across the portfolio
  • Monitoring launches, retail execution and campaign activity
  • Tracking sales performance and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Working closely with internal teams to deliver strong commercial outcomes

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to tick every box — but you should bring:

  • Experience in licensing, brand management, promotions or consumer products
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and timelines without losing track of detail
  • Confidence working with external partners, clients and internal stakeholders
  • Experience supporting approvals, contracts or other commercial processes
  • An interest in entertainment, consumer brands and retail
  • Strong presentation and Microsoft Office skills

About you

You’ll likely have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline
  • Around 3+ years’ experience in licensing, brand, marketing or a related field
  • Good judgement and a practical mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Curiosity, initiative and a collaborative working style

Salary package between $75,000 – $85,000 plus super based on experience.
