Mr. Mills, will emerge as an eclectic destination bar and late-night supper club, inviting guests to unwind in cosy booths or enjoy their meals at the bar or open kitchen. The menu will feature an array of small plates showcasing Iberian classics alongside more substantial offerings, all complemented by a diverse cocktail selection and an impressive wine list that highlights both local Victorian wines and European favourites, particularly Vinho Verde and selections from the Douro Valley. With a capacity for around 100 guests, Mr Mills will create a vibrant yet intimate setting that encourages conviviality and exploration of flavours.

Summary:

As a Host, you are responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences. You aim to support the running of the host desk and reservations procedures on a day-to-day basis under the direction of the Reservations Manager. A desire to offer outstanding hospitality should be at the centre of everything you do.

Responsibilities:

  • Completing opening and closing checklists diligently
  • Greeting guests with a warm and friendly demeanour
  • Controlling the flow of reservations from 2 entrances
  • Understanding Seven Rooms, such as assigning tables, seating guests and updating reservation/client profiles.
  • Confirming reservations on a daily basis and following up on all guest requests and questions
  • Assistance in event reservations, procedures and organisation when required
  • Ensure and secure up to date guest records and guest data to ensure the best possible experience
  • Take on any tasks allocated by the management team with a positive and mature approach
  • Have an excellent understanding of the food, beverage and wine menus and descriptions, including allergies and intolerances, and use this to maximise the guest experience
  • Ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately, and pre-payment and/or payment is taken in line with company procedures

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a Host/Hostess in a high end restaurant setting
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Customer service skills with a positive attitude
  • Proficiency in handling reservations, waiting lists and other host desk operations
  • Knowledge of POS system is an advantage
