Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Steel Administration Support team member in this specialised industry of Steel Import & Distribution. This role will see you deliver outstanding Customer Service Support to our Steel Accounts Manager, assisting with simply queries, and working with suppliers/carriers to resolve issues. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and organisational skills, a positive attitude and the ability to handle customer concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Action customer queries and work with the team to solve more complex investigations.

• Effectively and promptly resolve Customer queries.

• Proactive Customer contact on updates, issue logs and other matters.

• Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients via phone, email, and in person.

Steel Operational Administration:

• Reconcile Container & Breakbulk Shipments

• Manage Steel Storage liaising with Accounts & Warehouse Team regarding movement in/out of stock.

• Container Management – End to End (receive and manage tracking of goods through to Unpack and Delivery).

• Steel Customer Reports / Job Statuses compiled & distributed regularly

• Sub Contractor Compliance Maintenance

• Contractor Inductions

• Consignment Note copies to be emailed to customers same day transport has collected goods.

• PODs to be saved for Accounts to attach to Customer’s invoice.

• Monitor Container Forecast.

• Greet new drivers/customers/visitors as required.

• Review driver paperwork for pickup, issue CoR, form completion and signing.

Qualifications and Experience

• 1 – 2 years’ experience with Steel Import/Breakbulk.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a customer service role.

• Container Coordination Experience

• Experience with any of the following – Onestop, Freight Tracker or similar platforms is advantageous.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise effectively.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Demonstrated Office 365 experience.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
