Claims Advisor

Location: Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.

About the Role

We are looking for a purpose driven professional who is experienced in medical indemnity with a background in Law or Claims Management. Sitting our Claims Experience team, you will provide support and advice to our members through a range of matters from providing general advice on claims management to managing litigated cases.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical advice and support to our members on a range of claims matters relating to their provision of healthcare
• Proactively develop claims management strategies for the member to ensure the best possible outcome
• Provide expertise, guidance and recommendations in relation to settlements and dispute resolution
• Maintain high-quality case management practices, ensuring all files are complete and precise
• Attend and participate in mediations, settlement conferences and other meetings in support of MIPS members

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous demonstrated experience in a medical indemnity, insurance claims management, legal practice or regulatory role
• Experience working with a complex case load and an ability to manage competing priorities
• Working knowledge of personal injury, health, employment and/or insurance law
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
