Disability Support Worker

As a Disability Support Worker in Gladstone, Queensland, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
• Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and mobility.
• Develop and implement individualised support plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
• Monitor and document clients’ progress and any changes in their condition, reporting to relevant healthcare professionals.
• Encourage and facilitate social and recreational activities to promote engagement and community participation.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in disability support.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role or in the health and social care sector is preferred.
• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and their families.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
• A compassionate and patient approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
• A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle may be required.
