The Role Day-to-Day

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ILS Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for design and delivery of ILS products, working closely with a higly skilled team of engineers, and ensuring the technical publications are of the highest standard.

The ILS Practitioner will work closely with engineers and other project team members to ensure that publications, documents, training, spares, and other ILS products are developed to the highest quality standards. General responsibilities will include:

  • Create, edit, and manage technical publications, including user manuals, maintenance manuals, data summaries, EMEIs, repair parts lists, and other related items
  • Manage the ILS project scope, attend design reviews, work with the engineering team to ensure ILS aspects are considered within the development process
  • Provide avice and support to ensure products and systems are supportable
  • Identify, mitigate, and monitor obsolescence and other support risks and issues
  • Perform training needs analysis, training design, create training materials, and conduct training cources (both face to face and computer based training)
  • Analyse and report on logistic factors as part of engineering change management
  • Work with the project team to develop and deliver data items to the customer

What You Bring

  • Diploma in a related field, or the equivalent experience in a delivering ILS products
  • A background in the ADF would be highly regarded (veterans are encouraged to apply)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in delivery of ILS products in a defence environment
  • Strong understanding of C4I/communications, ICT, or electronic systems, ideally in a military vehicle or land domain context
  • Strong knowledge of ILS principles, standards, and Defence ERP (desireable)
  • Experience with MS 365 suite and technical publication authoring software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team of people with a range of skills and experience levels
  • A current or previously held Australian security clearance (Baseline or above)
  • Ability to work with ITAR and export controlled technologies
