About the Role 

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dynamic Disability Support Workers with experience in working with different groups, including children and young people, people with mental health challenges, intellectual disabilities, sensory difficulties, and those with physical disabilities to join our dedicated teams. 

This role suits someone with experience in mental health and disability support who values connection and person-centred care. You’ll be employed by Lumiere Foundation and work onsite with Interactive Community Care (ICCare), a trusted provider supporting families across NSW since 2010.

  • Competitive hourly rates starting from a casual rate of $ 43.23 (inclusive of 25% loading) and up to a casual rate of $ 45.94 (inclusive of 25% loading) based on qualifications, experience and capability.

Key Responsibilities 

You’ll support people of all abilities in areas such as: 

  • Personal and emotional wellbeing 
  • Domestic tasks (shopping, cleaning, transport, laundry) 
  • Community engagement and social connection 
  • Monitoring and reporting on health or behaviour concerns 
  • Medication administration (where required) 

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or related field (or willingness to obtain). 
  • Minimum 6 month’s experience in a similar role. 
  • Experience with domestic duties. 
  • Ability to be flexible and able travel to various locations.  
  • Active listening and communication skills. 
  • Basic English reading, writing and numeracy skills. 
  • Working with Children Check clearance for employment. 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.  
  • Unrestricted driver’s license and comprehensively insured car. 
  • Current First Aid Certificate. 

 

Essential Requirements: 

  • Full, unrestricted Australian working rights 
  • National Crime Check (or willingness to obtain) 
  • NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check 
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain) 
  • Licensing & transport: Current Australian driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance. 
  • Availability for variety of different shifts over a fortnightly roster (day/evening/sleepover/weekend).
