Longtrail Farms is a large-scale, progressive agricultural business operating across potatoes, cropping, livestock and irrigation.
We’re seeking a Harvest & Logistics Manager to take responsibility for end-to-end potato harvest operations: from planning, harvest, trucking through to quality assurance while leading and developing a high-performing crew.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager Operations, you will:
- Lead and coordinate all potato harvest activities, ensuring productivity, quality and safety are always front of mind
- Be the main operator of harvest machinery, taking pride in machine performance, output and care
- Being best in class and training your crew at the standard you set
- Supervise harvest crews and contractors, including rostering and day-to-day direction ensuring everyone can achieve their desired work life balance
- Ensure harvest equipment and plant are maintained to a high standard, minimising downtime
- Work closely with the production and irrigation team, customers (e.g trucking companies) and other operational managers to deliver best-practice outcomes
- Drive food safety, Freshcare compliance and quality assurance processes
- Run toolbox talks and safety meetings, setting the standard for a safety-first culture
- Identify efficiencies, improvements and cost-saving opportunities
- Mentor and develop team members and play a key role in recruitment and induction
- This is a hands-on supervisory role with real responsibility and the chance to grow your leadership capability in a supportive management team.
About you

- Someone who enjoys leading people and getting the best out of a team
You’ll bring:
- Experience in large-scale farming operations
- Experience in people management
- Confidence supervising people and coordinating complex operations
- Strong machinery knowledge (potato or horticultural experience desirable)
- A practical, organised and safety-focused approach
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable to learn and be proficient in the latest ag tech
- A willingness to learn, develop and grow with the business
Agricultural qualifications are desirable but not essential: attitude, capability and leadership potential matter most.
