About the Role

  • Full time (35 hours/week) 
  • Ongoing Position

The role will be responsible for leading and managing the Community Programs team to design, deliver, and improve initiatives that support Link Wentworth residents and their communities. This role focuses on co-designing programs with tenants, ensuring they are inclusive, evidence-based, and aligned with strategic priorities. You’ll champion customer voices in decision-making, foster collaboration across the organisation, and build strong stakeholder relationships, including the Tenant Advisory Group. Your leadership will drive positive community outcomes and embed impact into business practices.

In this role you will:

Lead and Manage the Team

  • Inspire and guide a high-performing team, providing strategic and operational leadership, mentoring, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Deliver Community Programs and Services

  • Design, implement, and evaluate high-quality programs informed by tenant needs, ensuring services are inclusive, culturally appropriate, and aligned with organisational priorities.

Build Partnerships, Collaborate, and Raise Organisational Profile

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with government, non-government organisations, and community housing providers to maximise outcomes, identify new opportunities and actively represent the organisation at sector events and through award nominations.

Drive Tenant Voice and Engagement

  • Empower tenants to influence decisions and participate in community life through consultation processes, advisory groups, and programs that enhance wellbeing and inclusion.

Lead Neighbourhood Improvement Initiatives

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver place-based projects using co-design approaches, ensuring alignment with community priorities and organisational objectives.

Ensure Continuous Service Improvement

  • Use tenant feedback and program data to inform decision-making, monitor KPIs, and drive innovation and service enhancements across all programs.

Manage Budgets

  • Oversee financial management for programs, ensure value for money for the Community Programs team.

Who we are looking for:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications in community development, social work or other qualifications in line with the responsibilities of the position.
  • Passion for people management and experience in growing high performing teams with high energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to communities and excellence.
  • Demonstrated experience in championing and initiating change and service improvement that makes a real difference to the lives of customers and communities.
  • Demonstrated record of positive and effective engagement with customers.
  • Knowledge of project management processes, with proven experience in designing, implementing, and driving programs to successful outcomes
  • Highly level rapport building, engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written, with the ability to develop and sustain professional relationships and strategic partnerships across all levels, engaging stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and promoting organisation-wide collaboration
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan workload, prioritise and meet deadlines.

You will also need to have… 

  • A valid National Police Check (less than six (6) months old) to the satisfaction of Link Wentworth, to be renewed every five (5) years or more frequently as reasonably required by Link Wentworth
  • Willingness to comply with vaccination requirements imposed by Link Wentworth, including COVID-19 and other vaccinations, as determined by the organisation in accordance with current Government health advice, mandates, or directions
  • Willingness to travel between Link Wentworth offices in metropolitan Sydney
  • Access to a registered and roadworthy vehicle
  • Willingness to be office-based five (5) days per week
  • A current driver’s licence valid in the state of NSW
