About the Company

Legacy Packing operates a busy citrus and stonefruit packing facility supplying high‑quality fruit to both domestic and export markets.

Quality, food safety and teamwork are central to everything we do, and we are currently seeking dedicated Quality Controllers to join our team for the upcoming citrus season.

These roles are based on the packing shed floor, working closely with Production and reporting directly to the Quality Control Supervisor.

About the Role

As a Quality Controller, you will be responsible for completing quality inspections and checks throughout the packing process to ensure all citrus meets customer, food safety and certification requirements. This is a physical, hands‑on, detail‑focused role and forms an important part of the production process.

These positions are seasonal, commencing in June, with potential to continue through until March, depending on production volumes and performance. Returning seasonal opportunities may be available to suitable candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections on citrus during receivals, packing and packing line operations, storage and despatch processes
  • Check product against customer specifications, grade standards and food safety requirements
  • Complete quality records, inspection forms and reports accurately and on time
  • Identify quality defects or issues and escalate them to the Quality Control Supervisor promptly
  • Support traceability and certification requirements, including export protocols where required
  • Follow site hygiene, food safety and WHS procedures at all times
  • Work as part of the production team to support efficient daily operations
  • Undertake adhoc activities including cleaning and sanitising activities, packing, labelling and despatch tasks when requested

About You

  • Reliable, practical and comfortable working in a busy packing shed environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Willingness to learn quality standards and inspection techniques
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to work on your feet for extended periods
  • Positive attitude and respectful behaviour
  • Previous experience in fresh produce, citrus packing or quality control is desirable but not essential — training will be provided
  • Formal training or experience in Freshcare, GlobalGAP (or other food safety system relevant to fresh produce), HARPS, HACCP, Auditor (internal/lead)
  • ChemCert, Forklift licence will be highly regarded.
  • Current Australian Work Rights – we are not offering sponsorship for this role
