Legacy Packing operates a busy citrus and stonefruit packing facility, supplying high‑quality fruit to both domestic and export markets. Due to significant growth this year, we are expanding our team.

About The Role

We are seeking a Production Inventory Controller to support our Production and Supply Chain teams by managing packaging materials, production supplies, rental equipment and inventory records.

This temporary position is a hands-on, detail-focussed role that plays a critical part in keeping production running smoothly. You’ll be working closely with Production to ensure they have everything they need to meet daily targets and supporting Logistics to manage paperwork during peak periods.

  • Coordinate with Production Team to forecast inventory requirements based on production schedules
  • Ordering and controlling packaging and general production supplies (non-fruit)
  • Identify and resolve inventory-related issues to minimise production delays
  • Receiving deliveries and checking stock accuracy
  • Managing rental equipment such as fruit bins, pallets and crates
  • Conduct condition inspections, recording and escalating issues promptly
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records and documentation
  • Supporting receival and despatch activities as required
  • Liaising directly with suppliers to ensure deliveries are in full and on time.

About You

  • Experience in inventory, stores, logistics, or production support
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good computer skills – this role uses Microsoft programs, supplier specific programs and production software
  • Confident communicator who can deal professionally with suppliers
  • Reliable and flexible team member
  • Proactive problem solver who can handle changing priorities calmly
  • Willing to support multiple areas within the supply chain and other production functions during peak periods
  • Current LF Forklift Licence is an advantage
  • Current Australian Work rights are essential – we are not offering sponsorship for this role
