Legacy Packing operates a busy citrus and stonefruit packing facility supplying high‑quality fruit to both domestic and export markets.

We are seeking a Despatch Clerk to join our fast-paced logistics team. This role is critical to ensuring fresh produce is accurately, efficiently and safely despatched from our facility to customers.

About The Role

Working closely with sales, production, quality and transport providers, you will coordinate daily despatch operations, manage documentation and help maintain our high standards of food safety, quality and compliance. There are a lot of moving parts to coordinate – calm, clear headed organisation is essential.

This position is rostered across 7 days per week, so flexibility and reliability are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily despatch of produce, ensuring customer, transport and timing requirements are met
  • Interpret daily despatch data and prioritise workflow to meet delivery schedules
  • Book and coordinate transport and liaise with freight providers
  • Create and manage orders, pallets and despatch documentation using Pick2Market (P2M) and labelling software
  • Generate compliant pallet and carton labels to customer specifications that ensure traceability of produce is maintained
  • Conduct despatch checks to ensure quality, temperature control and hygiene standards are met
  • Assist with Stock On Hand (SOH) monitoring and storage rotation
  • Provide data entry assistance to the Receivals Team
  • Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work collaboratively across despatch, receivals, QC and labelling as required, providing support to other teams during peak periods.

About You

You are organised, proactive and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with competing priorities. You take pride in accuracy, teamwork and doing things right the first time.

You will bring:

  • A positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work respectfully in a multicultural team
  • Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Work, Outlook); P2M and Bartender experience is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to WHS and food safety
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities with a clear, calm head
  • Willingness to learn quickly and consistently follow processes

Desirable but no essential:

  • Experience in logistics, warehousing or despatch is highly regarded. Bonus points if you have worked in the fresh produce supply chain.
  • Forklift licence and workplace operational experience
  • Knowledge of QC systems such as Freshcare or HACCP
