The Role:

Due to recent enhancements and the expansion of our local rail network at Kenwick, the KTrans Container/Wharf team is looking for an Operations Coordinator with a strong background in container operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to take initiative, ensuring the smooth, timely delivery of services to our valued business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end administrative tasks associated with the Container Division’s wharf activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Proactively communicate with business partners, providing real-time updates on container movements and resolving any issues or delays.
  • Coordinate closely with the Wharf Cartage Supervisor on scheduling matters that may impact operations.
  • Schedule daily deliveries, focusing on fleet optimisation and maximising profitability based on delivery capacity.
  • Generate detailed reports and metrics, offering insights to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a transport environment, specifically with Wharf/Container operations.
  • Familiarity with Freight Tracker, 1-Stop booking portal, and Containerchain booking portal.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Perth Metropolitan area and local transport processes.
  • Strong data entry skills, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take initiative.
  • Highly motivated, with a passion for continuous growth and improvement.
