About the Role

Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council is seeking a reliable and motivated Cleaner to support the day-to-day operations of the Accommodation Centre.

This role is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across the Accommodation Centre and other Council facilities, while providing a welcoming and positive experience for guests and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the Accommodation Centre in line with cleaning schedules
• Service other Council facilities as required
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and safety
• Assist with stock control and inventory
• Provide friendly and professional customer service
• Follow all relevant cleaning and safety procedures

About You

• Experience in cleaning or similar work (preferred)
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Friendly and approachable with a strong customer service focus
• Willingness to learn and undertake training
• Ability to work respectfully in a culturally diverse environment

Mandatory Requirements

• Current Driver Licence (desirable)
• Ability to obtain a National Police Check
