Koorana has a fantastic opportunity for three (3) Certificate III qualified Early Childhood Educators to join Koorana’s Early Childhood Educations Services Team at our new inclusive preschool in Bass Hill opening soon.
Two positions will be for 30hrs per week:
1 x position from 8.00am – 2.30pm and;
1 x position from 9.30am – 4.00pm
One position will be for 20hrs per week:
10.00am – 2.00pm
The Opportunity
Koorana’s Early Childhood Educators contribute to the operation of an inclusive preschool program. They work collaboratively with the wider preschool team to help deliver quality early childhood education programs which reflect the goals of the National Quality Curriculum Framework. They will also:
- model a quality early childhood learning program;
- implement a play-based learning program;
- engage in reflective practice and assessment to enrich children’s learning;
- assist the teams to prepare resources to support children’s learning outcomes;
- maintain effective communication to support the successful delivery of service to children and families; and
- adhere to national regulations, as outlined in Koorana’s Preschool Policies and Procedures.

What You’ll Do
Have experience in working with children with additional learning needs, within an early childhood setting.
A Certificate in ‘Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk’.
An ability to engage children in age and developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
To be passionate about play-based education practice.
A demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritise, plan ahead, anticipate risks and problem solve.
To have a sound understanding of inclusive practice.
A demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse community.
To be a team player.
An ability to effectively communicate with children, families, colleagues and Koorana management.
What You’ll Bring
A sound understanding of:
- National Quality Framework for Early Education, inclusive of the National Law and Regulations, Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard;
- Child Safe Organisation and Child Well Being Legislation; and
- First Aid Certificate (including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis).
Qualifications and Checks
- An ACECQA‑approved Early Childhood Educator qualification (Certificate III).
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current NDIS Workers Check (or eligibility to obtain).
Hours, Location & Employment Type
- Two positions will be for 30hrs per week: 1 x position from 8.00am – 2.30pm and 1 x position from 9.30am – 4.00pm
- One position will be for 20hrs per week: 10.00am – 2.00pm
- All three positions will work from Monday – Friday.
- Operates in line with NSW Department of Education school terms; school holidays are set aside for staff planning, reflection, training and team building.
