Description

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to administer our Youth and Community Empowerment section (graduates are welcome to apply) and join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the needs and challenges faced by individuals, families, and communities.
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans to address identified needs, ensuring the provision of necessary resources and services.
  • Collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to coordinate and deliver social and community services effectively.
  • Provide counseling, guidance, and advocacy to individuals and families, empowering them to overcome obstacles and improve their quality of life.
  • Organize and facilitate educational workshops, support groups, and community events to promote social inclusion and enhance community engagement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
  • Stay informed about relevant social policies, legislation, and resources to provide accurate information and referrals to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or certificate in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field preferred (or experience working towards qualifications)
  • Demonstrated experience in youth, social and community services, preferably with experience working with Indigenous Australian communities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information and provide support.
  • Empathetic and compassionate nature, with the ability to handle sensitive and challenging situations with professionalism and care.
  • Knowledge of community resources, social service programs, and relevant legislation.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software for documentation and data management.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
  • Experience with case management and data recording standards.
