Kalium Lakes Limited is a minerals company which has 100% ownership of the Beyondie Sulphate of Potash (SOP) Mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

As the first producer of SOP in Australia, our high-grade product is a premium fertiliser essential for high value crops. Global use of SOP is supply constrained, with Australia having been a 100% importer, prior to KLL entering commercial production.

This is an exciting opening to create a positive impact in an ASX listed company and an emerging priority mineral sector for Australia.

About the Role

We are a small, inclusive Company with an entrepreneurial spirit and seeking like-minded, hands-on individuals to join our expanding Operations Team. As a Process Plant Team Leader, you will assist and lead in the development of the Production teams and the safe achievement of production targets, within budget and in accordance with Company operating policies, procedures, and standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead an operations shift crew in the process plant area, including control room, packaging, and general processing operations.
  • Demonstrate KLL standards and industry best practice in all actions
  • Demonstrate and ensure a high standard of health and safety is followed and upheld across the Plant
  • Provide training of newly hired Operators
  • Complete inspections of all operating areas
  • Develop and improve procedures and methods for the execution of operations tasks
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the plant and surrounding areas
  • Identify minor mechanical and process maintenance on metallurgical process equipment
  • Capture and update plant process data both performance and downtime related
  • Become a Permit Ossuer and Authorised Isolator.

About You

  • Experience directing and motivating small teams.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ Fixed plant operating experience in mineral or Chemical plants
  • Control room experience desirable.
  • Experience working shifts on a rotating roster
  • FIFO or remote working experience
  • Current WA “C” class driver’s license (manual transmission preferred).
  • Working at Heights and Confined Space Competency highly regarded.
  • Ability to operate wheeled and skid steer loaders, highly regarded.
  • First Aid qualification preferred
  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to health and safety in all actions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and communicate with all levels within the Company.
  • Be a self-starter, who can work autonomously without significant supervision.
  • You will be a team player, with a “can do approach”.
  • Be willing to go above and beyond to contribute to the success of our operation.
  • Capacity to work to tight deadlines and in high pressure environments and assist others to do so.

Location and Travel

The Beyondie SOP Mine is located 180km south-east of Newman in the Pilbara region, a two-hour flight north of Perth.

This role will work a 15 days on, 13 days off roster, flying in and out of Perth.
