Accountant

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team in East Melbourne. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with Australian accounting standards and reporting frameworks.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
• Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and recommendations.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure timely submission of tax returns and compliance with relevant tax legislation.
• Maintain and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a mid-senior capacity.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and financial modelling.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Thorough knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulations, and lodgement procedures.
• Membership in CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) is highly regarded.
