The Role
The Senior Software Developer reports to the CTO and utilises their extensive expertise in Laravel and front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue), along with knowledge of AWS, to contribute to the development and maintenance of high-quality code for both front-end and back-end systems. This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of new functionalities, enhancements, and robust software solutions as part of the company’s engineering team.
You must be motivated and passionate about great service. Within a small team, you understand that working closely with others and pitching in when necessary helps our team be stronger and reach our goals.
When and Where
This is a full-time remote role based anywhere in Australia.
Your Duties

Collaboration: Work with development teams and product leads to plan, implement, and deliver new features and improvements.

Software Development: Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient code across both front-end and back-end systems.

Continuous Integration and Deployment: Contribute to the company’s CI/CD workflows, including participation in automated testing processes to ensure the stability and reliability of code deployments.

Engineering Practices: Uphold and advocate for best practices in software engineering, including compliance with coding standards, security protocols, and quality assurance.

Team Engagement: Actively participate in daily stand-ups, code reviews, and team discussions to foster a collaborative working environment and share knowledge with team members.

Support: Provide support to the team in rare cases of high-profile events, urgent system incidents, or critical launches requiring your expertise.

Testing and Validation: Develop and execute playwright and other test suite tests to validate functionality and ensure that all developed features meet required standards and expectations.

Research and Development: Contribute to the research and development of new features, frameworks, or other tools that enhance customer and organisational experiences.
Skills and Experience

Essential:
- 5+ years’ experience with Laravel
- Experience with a front-end frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular)
- Strong knowledge of AWS
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD
- Exposure to automated testing and either TDD or BDD
- Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
- Comfortable working autonomously in a small, collaborative team
- Full working rights in Australia
Desirable:
- Experience with React Native
- Experience with Serverless
- Interest in continuous improvement and best engineering practices
- You have experienced taking your own side project from an idea to paying customer
