About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-driven Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a permanent part-time basis (2 days per week). Based at our Mooroolbark headquarters, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time, every time.
This is more than just processing numbers. You’ll be a trusted partner to employees across the business, delivering exceptional payroll service and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process fortnightly payroll for employees across all associated businesses
- Calculate and verify hours worked, overtime, deductions, and other payroll components
- Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws, superannuation regulations, Fair Work legislation, and relevant awards
- Maintain accurate payroll records including timesheets, leave balances, and related documentation
- Generate payroll reports and perform regular reconciliations
- Respond to employee payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Liaise with HR to ensure accurate implementation of benefits, deductions, and policy changes
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with system enhancements
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Employment Hero experience – essential
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a payroll position
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, tax, superannuation, and Fair Work requirements
- Experience with end-to-end payroll processes including pays, end of month, and EOFY
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
