Paralegal / Junior Lawyer – Banking & Finance (Melbourne)

We are seeking a motivated and talented team member to join our Banking & Finance team in Melbourne. Whether you are an experienced Paralegal or a Junior Lawyer, this role offers exposure to a broad range of banking and finance matters.
Position Overview
You will play an integral role in supporting and advising on banking and finance transactions. Depending on your experience level, your responsibilities will range from preparing and managing finance documentation to conducting legal research and advising clients under senior lawyer guidance.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct legal research on banking and finance laws and regulations to support the team in providing accurate and up-to-date advice
• Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents related to banking and finance transactions, including loan agreements, mortgages and security documents and regulatory compliance
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients ,providing legal support and assistance under the guidance of senior lawyers to settle files
• Using PEXA for streamlined and efficient electronic conveyancing
• Contribute to due diligence processes, ensuring thorough examination of relevant legal aspects in banking and finance matters
• Manage and organise legal documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
What We’re Looking For
Paralegal candidates should ideally bring:
• 1–2 years’ paralegal experience (banking & finance preferred)
• Strong organisational skills and confidence in drafting and preparing accurate conveyancing documentation and correspondence
• Familiarity with PEXA and e-lodgement processes.
Junior Lawyer candidates should ideally bring:
• Admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner with 1–3 years’ post admission experience.
• Experience in land title transactions, commercial leasing, residential and commercial property matters
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication.
