In operation since 1987, every Jardan piece is researched, designed, crafted and assembled at our Production site in Melbourne, retaining skills whilst focusing on a premium made to order process bound by sustainability and quality.

What we are looking for:

As the Senior Designer – Homewares, you will lead the design and sourcing of a diverse lifestyle product range, including ceramics, textiles, artwork, tableware, cushions, blankets, rugs, and furniture fabrics. Reporting to the Sales Director (and to the Homewares and Fabric Design Manager upon their return from leave), this 12-month parental leave contract, offers the opportunity to contribute creatively within a collaborative team. The role is based fully on site at our HQ in Scoresby.

What the role entails:

  • Manage a large and varied product portfolio, including hard & soft goods in Homewares & Lighting
  • Manage product calendar/ critical development path 
  • Design and Develop a wide portfolio of products under the Jardan brand for both textiles and hardgoods 
  • Establish and nurture strong, strategic & positive supplier relationships, both locally and internationally
  • Negotiate supplier trading, cost pricing, supplier payment terms and supplier agreements where necessary, including covering off exclusivity agreements
  • Critical analysis of sales data to ensure opportunities are consistently maximised and risk minimised, as supported by Merchandise Planner
  • Carry out competitor analysis, to ensure Jardan products, pricing and promotions are relevant, competitive and on brand
  • Strong Fabric technical knowledge in order to support development of fabric ranges for furniture 
  • Create visual range / map boards to internally communicate ranges & new products
  • Work closely with the Head of VM & Styling to plan space and layouts for all homewares ranges
  • Carry out product training seasonally
  • Create sales training packs
  • Work closely with Graphic Design to create product packaging as required
  • Manage and mentor the Homewares Junior Designer

 

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience across design, buying, and product development
  • A formal qualification in a design-related discipline
  • A strong creative eye with a passion for product and emerging trends
  • The ability to think commercially and contribute to driving business growth
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • A positive, collaborative mindset with a natural ability to work as part of a team
