About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? As a Program Coordinator with ITEC Youth, you’ll have the unique opportunity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based services to young people in the statutory child protection system. You’ll play a key role in empowering young people to reach their potential through daily support planning, collaboration with key stakeholders, and ensuring access to essential services. In this dynamic role, the following list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, a full Position description will be provided upon employment:

  • Allocates daily individual support plans for each young person
  • Develop Care Plans with young people, key team members and stakeholders
  • Maintain case management responsibilities and participate in all formal and informal Child Safety DFSDSCS) discussions regarding young people and share information with the young person’s Child Safety Officer (CSO)
  • Develop and distribute communication regarding young people’s activities, tasks and goals ensuring that appointments and goals are met
  • Ensure all young people have the opportunity to attend school or an alternative program
  • Ensure all young people have ongoing medical and dental consultations and treatment as required
  • Maintain accurate and timely incident reporting
  • Ensure all shift reports are submitted & verified before uploading to young people files
  • Maintain open communication with young people to ensure they are engaged with the program
  • Maintain adequate household staples such as groceries and cleaning products
  • Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of workers (ITEC staff and labour hire companies) to the strictest level
  • This role is based in Cairns and requires fortnightly travel to Townsville to conduct site visits. All travel will be undertaken within the same day, with no overnight accommodation required.

 

What ITEC Youth is looking for:

ITEC Youth is seeking a dynamic Program Coordinator who is dedicated to empowering young people through innovative programming, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving impactful initiatives that inspire personal and professional growth. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • High level of communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Computer literacy using windows-based software, internet, email and excel
  • Ability to influence and gain participation and engagement of a wide range of participants
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to engage in upskilling opportunities to further develop skillset the organisation feels is necessary to the role

Mandatory Probity requirements:

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • Current Working With Children Clearance (Blue Card)
  • Undergo a Suitability Clearance with Child Safety (LCS2 Application)
  • National Police Check (NPC) – must be completed through ITEC’s nominated system prior to commencement and maintained as required.
