Join our Ipswich team and help shape speech pathology services while mentoring clinicians and contributing to service development.
You will work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians to deliver holistic outcomes for clients across the community.
This role offers the opportunity to combine clinical expertise with leadership while continuing to develop your own clinical interests.
About the Role
You will support a mixed caseload across the lifespan, including Support at Home, aged care, NDIS and private clients.
Services are delivered across clinic, home and community environments.
Senior clinicians also support mentoring, supervision and service development within the team.
What You’ll Be Doing
Deliver speech pathology assessment and intervention across clinic and community settings
Support communication and swallowing needs across a diverse client group
Mentor and supervise clinicians and support student placements
Facilitate therapy groups and communication programs
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary allied health team
Contribute to service development and quality improvement
Predominantly adult, but option for paediatrics/secondary student clients if preferred
Facilitation of social communication groups for young adults
Facilitation of communication groups for older adults with brain injuries
Education and training of support workers and nursing staff, involving travel across QLD to facilitate these
Dysphagia management in aged care and disability populations
Regional travel for adult communication and dysphagia assessments for both NDIS and SaH populations
Supervision and mentoring of students, new graduates and early career therapist
Collaborate with multidisciplinary allied health team
Contribute to service development and quality improvement
About You
Eligible for Speech Pathology Australia membership
Minimum 4+ years clinical experience preferred
Experience working with mixed caseloads across the lifespan
Passion for mentoring and supporting clinicians
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Driver’s licence
NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
COVID and flu vaccination evidence
