The Opportunity
We are searching for skilled Fibre Technicians to join our growing team in Melbourne, working in leading Data Centres located in Brooklyn and Laverton, with expanding work potentially in the Melbourne CBD.
Key Responsibilities
- Be an experienced Fibre Technician
- Fusion Splicing of Singlemode & Multimode Fibre Optics
- Installation of Pre-Terminated Fibre Cabling Systems
- Fibre Testing using Fluke & OTDR Equipment including analysing test results
- Fault Finding and remediation of Fibre Cabling Systems
- Rack dressing, patching and labelling
- Interpreting drawings, fibre cabling layouts and scope documentation
- Working inside live Data Centres and Secure Environments
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Fibre Technician in Data Centre Environments
- Strong fusion splicing and fibre testing capability
- Experience with Pre-Terminated fibre solutions
- High attention to detail and quality assurance
- Understanding of Data Centres and best practices
- Experience with Ribbon Fibre Cable is desirable
- Experience in Defence or Secure Environments (highly regarded)
Qualifications/Experience
- Current ACMA Open Cabling Licence with Structured Cabling Endorsement
- Experience in Data and Fibre installation.
- Construction Industry General Induction (white card)
- Current Australian driver’s license
- EWP Ticket (desirable)
- Ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance NV1 or currently hold one
