The Opportunity

We are searching for skilled Data Cabling Installers and Fibre Technicians to join our growing team in Melbourne, working in leading Data Centres located in Brooklyn and Laverton, with expanding work potentially in the Melbourne CBD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be an experienced Data Cabler and/or a Licensed Electrician.
  • Installation and termination of Cat 6 & Cat 6a Structured Cabling
  • Copper Testing using Fluke Testers
  • Fault finding and remediation of Structured Cabling Systems
  • Termination of Patch Panels and RJ45 Outlets
  • Rack dressing, patching and labelling
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and cabling layouts
  • Working inside live Data Centre and Secure Environments

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Cabling Technician
  • Strong structured cabling installation and termination skills
  • Experience testing copper cabling with Fluke equipment
  • Understanding of Data Centre standards and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in Defence or secure environments (Highly regarded)

Qualifications/Experience

  • Current ACMA Open Cabling Licence with Structured Cabling Endorsement
  • Experience in Data and Fibre installation.
  • Construction Industry General Induction (white card)
  • Current Australian drivers license
  • EWP Ticket (desirable)
  • Ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance NV1 or currently hold one
